Butterflies – Stage 1

The cross stitch part of the first one of the remaining five butterflies is finished. It’s a purple emperor (Apatura iris).

I will continue to finish one every month until by the end of August all fifteen are complete. For the next three months, I will stitch the outlines of each of one row containing five butterflies. As for now, I haven’t got any idea what the finished panel will become, but I think somewhere in the depths of The Boudoir  a piece of cotton fabric with a pretty butterfly print still lies hidden, enough to make a cushion. If not, I know a little shop. 😉

  1. Beautiful… I have some cross stitch patterns for butterflies I made using a great program I found on the internet. Are you interested in having more, or do you have quite enough already?

    • I’ve got another dozen plus some really cool beetles. Alas, I won’t be able to make them before next year, but yes, I’m interested. Can a girl ever have enough butterfly patterns? 🙂

      • I was actually going to use them to make tapestry cushion covers! I’ll email the pdfs to you. One’s a purple emperor, like the one you’ve just finished, but with more colours.

  2. even if you don’t quite meet your target at each of our post stages, you can still stitch along – we’re easy-going lol
